Municipality of Vila Franca de Xira
The municipality of Vila Franca de Xira is part of Greater Lisbon and is one of the 18 Municipalities that make up the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon (AML). It occupies an area of approximately 318 Km2, equivalent to about 11% of the total AML and 23% of Greater Lisbon, adding six parishes. According to the definitive results of the XV General Census of Population and Housing V, of the National Statistics Institute (INE), on March 21, 2011 (Census 2011), the resident population in the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira was 136,886 individuals: 65.808 men (48.07%) and 71.078 women (51.93%), being the 8th most populous municipality in Greater Lisbon (6.70%) and the 10th of the AML (4.85%).

AIDGLOBAL
AIDGLOBAL is a Portuguese Non-Governmental Organization for Development (ONGD), duly recognized by the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which aims to promote Action towards Integration and Development (AID), on a Global scope. Our vision and challenge is to make the world a more fair, equitable and sustainable place to live with high levels of literacy and education, promoting an active citizenship. We work in order to identify, design and implement strategies and actions that contribute to eliminate the impediments towards access to education and social inclusion in the Community of Portuguese Language Speaking Countries (CPLP), working directly with the population and local authorities.

Il comune di Vila Franca de Xira è parte della Grande Lisbona ed è uno dei 18 comuni che formano l’Area Metropolitana di Lisbona (AML). Occupa un’area di circa 318 km2, che equivale a circa l’11% dell’AML totale e al 23% della Grande Lisbona, aggiungendo 6 parrocchie. Secondo i risultati definitivi del XV Censimento Generale della Popolazione e delle Abitazioni V, dell’Istituto di Statistica Nazionale, il 21 marzo 2011 (Censimento 2011) la popolazione residente del comune di Vila Franca de Xira contava 136,886 individui: 65.808 uomini (48,07%) e 71.078 donne (51,93%), essendo l’ottavo comune più popolato della Grande Lisbona (6,07%) e il decimo dell’AML (4,85%).

La municipalité de Vila Franca de Xira fait partie de l'agglomération de Lisbonne et est l'une des 18 municipalités composant l'aire métropolitaine de Lisbonne (AML). Elles occupent une superficie d'environ 318 km2, soit environ 11% de la LMA totale et 23% du Grand Lisbonne, en ajoutant six paroisses. Selon les résultats définitifs du XVe recensement général de la population et du logement V de l'Institut national de la statistique (INE) du 21 mars 2011 (recensement de 2011), la population résidant dans la commune de Vila Franca de Xira était de 136 886 personnes : 65,808 hommes (48,07%) et 71,078 femmes (51,93%) sont la 8ème commune la plus peuplée du Grand Lisbonne (6,70%) et la 10ème de la LAM (4,85%).
