Between March 3-11, 3 planning workshops on #ODD16 - Peace, Justice and Efficient Institutions took place in Bucharest within the Walk the Global Walk project, implemented by the Bucharest City Hall, through the Culture, Education and Tourism Department, and the Association for Assistance and Programs for Sustainable Development - Agenda 21.
The workshops took place in videoconference format and brought together over 50 students ambassadors and teachers from 12 schools and high schools in Bucharest - "Anghel Saligny" Technical College, "Dante Alighery" Theoretical High School, "Grigore Moisil" National College, Theoretical High School Tudor Vladimirescu, “George Coșbuc” National Bilingual College, “Mihai Viteazul” National College, “Nicolae Kretzulescu” Higher Commercial School, “Virgil Madgearu” Economic College, “Viaceslav Harnaj” Technological College, “Viilor” Economic College, General School no. 194, "Emil Racoviță" National College.
The objective of the workshops was to bring to the same "virtual" table, students and public administration authorities of Bucharest to plan together the actions that will take place this year during the Sustainable Development Goals European Week.
Thus, the 3 workshops were attended by 37 representatives of public authorities from Bucharest, among which we mention: Bucharest City Hall, 2nd District City Hall, 1st District City Hall - Sustainable Development Strategy, Programs, Projects Department, Bucharest Center for Seniors, Bucharest Youth Center, Bucharest Educational and Sports Projects Center - PROEDUS.
The main conclusion of the 3 meetings was that the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), brought together informally and under the name of Global Objectives of the 2030 Agenda, can be achieved only through a much stronger collaboration of all social actors, both nationally as well as internationally. In support of this conclusion, the unitary response of the world's states to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic was also invoked.
Along with the 3 planning workshops, 48 students and 12 teachers participated, in February of this year, in 5 introductory workshops in the conceptual issue of SDG16 - Peace, Justice and Effective Institutions.
Walk the (Global) Walk: mobilizing young Europeans to promote the Sustainable Development Goals is a project co-financed by the European Commission through the DEAR Program Line Ref-EuropeAid / 151103 / ACT / MULTI-4 - Raising public awareness of development issues and the promotion of development education in the European Union and enjoys a wide international participation, consisting of a consortium of 19 partners from 11 European countries (Italy, France, Croatia, Cyprus, Wales, Scotland, Portugal, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania).
